Communication 3. Synthesis of benzyl 2-acetamido-2-desoxy-4-O-(β-D-galactopyranosyl)-β-D-glucoside and its cleavage

Conclusions

We synthesized benzyl 4-O-(β-D-galactopyranosyl)-β-D-glucosaminide, which models the repeating link of hexosaminoglucans with a 1 → 4 substituted glucosamine residue, and subjected it to selective cleavage at both of the glycoside linkages.
