Conclusions
-
1.
The lowered values of the slopes of the two-electron waves of the reduction of benzophenone in comparison with the theoretical value are explained by the contribution of the reversible reaction of disproportionation of the anion radicals and neutral radicals to the summary irreversible process.
-
2.
The introduction of electron-acceptor substituents into the benzophenone molecule leads to an increase in the contribution of the disproportionation reaction, while the introduction of electron donor substituents leads to a decrease in the fraction of this reaction in the process.
