Conclusions
-
1.
The interaction of perchlorate solutions of Ru(IV) with Br− at room temperature and an ionic strength 4.0 M (NaClO4, NaBr) was studied spectrophotometrically in the interval of Br− concentrations 0.00–4.00 M.
-
2.
Equilibrium in solutions with Br− contents 0.12–3.90 M is established within six months, while in solutions with Br− concentrations < 0.10 Mastate of equilibrium is not reached in 10 months.
-
3.
The concentration conditions of predominant existence of the complex with composition [Ru2OBr8-(H2O)2]2− (or [RuOBr4]−) were established; its optical characteristics were determined, and the number of bromide ions participating in its formation was calculated.
