Relation between kinetic isotope effect and strength of acid or base

Conclusions

A numerical analysis was made of the relation between the kinetic isotope effect of hydrogen and the value of the free energy of the reaction, and it was shown that the position of the kH/kD maximum does not necessarily correspond to ΔpK=0.
