Fluorine-containing allenes 9. The cesium salt of 1,1,3,3-tetrakis (trifluoromethyl)perfluoropropenyl carbanion and its properties

Conclusions

  1. 1.

    The reaction of tetrakis(trifluoromethyl)allene with CsF in diglyme leads to the formation of a Cs salt of mesomeric 1,1,3,3-tetrakis(trifluoromethyl)perfluoropropenyl carbanion (II). When this is heated or treated with benzoyl chloride, the initial allene is reformed.

  2. 2.

    The reactions of the Cs salt (II) with water, methyl iodine, allyl bromide, and monochloromethyl ether leads to compounds which are formally products of the addition of HF or the corresponding alkyl (alkenyl or methoxyalkyl) fluoride to one of the double bonds of the cumulene system of tetrakis(trifluoroinethyl)allene.
