Abstract
This article presents a case history and discussion of the successful treatment of a teenage girl who had an obsessive-compulsive neurosis. Multiple therapeutic interventions were used, but a unique approach was the prescription of an ordeal. The discussion focuses on the reasons for success and a brief review of the literature is included.
