Conclusions
-
1.
A model, taking into account outer-diffusion mass transfer in the sorbent phase due to the vortex motions of the liquid in the stagnant zones, was discussed for a mixture of sorbents.
-
2.
In the case of intense mass exchange in the sorbent phase the mixture is equivalent to a unary sorbent, whose kinetic coefficient and distribution coefficient are equal to the sum of the corresponding partial parameters.
-
3.
A kinetically passive ballast does not change the form of the output curve. A kinetically active ballast increases the value of the kinetic coefficient.
-
4.
A mixture of commensurate amounts of two sorbents with high distribution coefficients can be approximately described by a unary sorbent.
-
5.
In the discussed cases the proposed method of replacing the mixture by a unary sorbent can also be extended to a greater number of fractions.
