Conformations of certain ethylene ketals with vicinal C-Hal bonds

Conclusions

The g⇌t equilibrium is displaced toward the less polar gauche form in the ethylene ketals of 2-chlorocyclohexanone and 2-bromocyclohexanone, and in the chloro- and bromoacetaldehydes.
