Conclusions
-
1.
The reaction of Cp2VMe2 (Cp =cyclopentadienyl) with an equimolar amount of HCl gave Cp2V(Me)Cl.
-
2.
Cp2V(Me)Cl decomposes with a retention of the biscyclopentadienyl structure and the insertion of a methyl group in the cyclopentadienyl ring.
