Conclusions
Establishing the photostationary equilibrium of the isomers of polymethine dyes under the influence of constant light radiation from a probe lamp at low temperatures makes it possible, by varying the wave-length of the photoexcitation, to record the differential absorption spectra of both the cis- and trans-photoisomers, and to study the kinetic characteristics of the di-cis-photoisomers, which are not observed under ordinary conditions.
