Conclusions

  1. 1.

The reaction of ɛ-caprolactam with epichlorohydrin leads to the formation of ɛ-caprolactam-1-chloro-2-propanol, which is converted to 2,3-epoxypropyl-N-ɛ-caprolactam by treatment with NaOH.

  2. 2.

The reaction of ɛ-caprolactam with γ-glycidoxytrimethylenetriethoxysilane gave a polymeric product, which begins to lose weight only at 280°, while the weight loss at 350° does not exceed 10–12%.
