Conclusions
-
1.
The radicals formed in the autooxidation of ethoxyquin decompose with elimination of a methyl radical which is converted into methyl hydroperoxide.
-
2.
Autocatalysis in the oxidation of ethoxyquin by molecular oxygen results from the free radicals formed in the reaction of methyl hydroperoxide with the ethoxyquin.
