Conclusions
-
1.
Using an equimolar ratio of the reactants, the reaction of bis(cyclopentadienyl)vanadium dichloride with bis(triethylgermyl)cadmium gave a complex of composition [Cp2VCl2·Cd(GeEt3)2].
-
2.
The complex when heated or reacted with HCl decomposes with the liberation of cadmium (orcadmium chloride) and cleavage of the V-Ge bond.
