Conclusions

  1. 1.

In an inert solvent (p-xylene) at 70°, the decomposition of tetraphenylhydrazine into diphenylnitrogen radicals occurs as a reversible reaction with a low value of the equilibrium constant and is not complicated by disproportionation of the Ph2N' radicals.

  2. 2.

Using arylhydrazines as the source of diarylnitrogen radicals, a method was proposed for the determination of the reactivity of these radicals in reactions of stripping of hydrogen.

  3. 3.

The ratios of the constants kHX/√k9 were determined by the reaction of diphenylnitrogen radicals with various hydrogen donors.

  4. 4.

The rate constant of the reaction of diphenylnitrogen with cumyl hydroperoxide was measured.
