1.
The NMR-13C spectra of 2-thiophenaldehyde, 2-acetothienone, their complexes with 1 and 2 moles of AlCl3, as well as a 1∶1 complex of the ethyl ester of 2-thiophencarboxylic acid with AlCl3, were studied.

2.
As a result of complex formation, the electron density on the C3 and C5 carbon atoms is sharply reduced, while that on C4 is negligibly reduced, and that on the carbon atom in the 2-position is increased.
