Conclusions
-
1.
The dipole moment ofπ-allyl complexes of palladium with the composition (RC3H4PdCl)2 and RC3H4PdCl (amine) were measured.
-
2.
The moment of theπ-allyl-palladium bond is 2–2.5 D and is directed from the allyl to the Pd, i. e., the allyl group carries a positive charge in comparison with the metal atom.
-
3.
The observed dipole moments of binuclear complexes agree with the assumption of a disruption of the planar character of the bridge Pd2Cl2 group in solution.
