Conclusions

A theoretical investigation was made of the reactions of proton transfer between 2, 2′-cyanines and carboxylic acids. The kinetic parameters were calculated for this series. Good agreement of the theoretical results with the experimental data were shown.

From an analysis of the isotopic effect, the values of the valence and deformational frequencies of the C-H bond in cyanine were determined, and estimates of the distance of proton transfer were made.
