Conclusions

  1. 1.

    The tautomeric equilibrium of 5-aminophenol-<2-azo-1>-naphthol-2 has been investigated by the MO LCAO method, using Hückel's approximation.

  2. 2.

    The most stable is the naphthoquinone hydrazone form. The absorption spectra confirm the calculated data.
