Conclusions

  1. 1.

Representative mixed chelate cyclopentadienyl compounds of zirconium and hafnium, containing substituents in the cyclopentadienyl ring, were synthesized: RC5H4M(chelate)2Cl (cehelate=acetylacetone or 8-hydroxyquinoline residue; R=CH3, t-C4H9, M=Zr, Hf); t-C4H9C5H4Zr(C9H6ON)3; [CH3C5H4Zr(acac)2]2O.

  2. 2.

It was shown by the PMR method that in solution at room temperature compounds of the RC5H4M (acac)2X type (M=Zr, Hf; X=Cl, OCOCH3; R=H, CH3, ter-C4H9) have a cis-configuration. The high rigidity of the investigated molecules compared with other acetylacetonate compounds of Group IV metals not containing a cyclopentadienyl ring is discussed.
