Conclusions

  1. 1.

The ionization constants of 1,1-dinitroethane, nitroacetic and nitropropionic esters, 1- and 2-nitropropanes, nitroethane, and nitromethane were determined in methanol at 25°.

  2. 2.

A linear relationship was found between the reciprocal logarithms of the dissociation constants of nitro-compounds in water and methanol.

  3. 3.

The presence of a bathochromic shift of the absorption maxima of mononitroalkane anions in the UV region upon a change from water to methanol was demonstrated.
