Conclusions

  1. 1.

Five peptide fragments which include the Ser38 residue of the histone H1 fraction have been synthesized. These are; H-Lysn-Ala-Ser-R, H-Lys3-Gly-Ser-R, H-Lys3-Ala-Ala-Ser-R, and R-Gly-Pro-Pro-OCH3, where n=1 to 3, and H-Lysn-Ala-Ser-OCH3, where n=1 or 3.

  2. 2.

Preliminary experiments have shown the only H-Lys3-Ala-Ala-Ser-R and H-Lysn-Ala-Ser-OCH3, where n=1 or 3, were not phosphorylated by phosphokinase.
