Conclusions
-
1.
A comparative study has been made of the adsorption isotherms of carbon dioxide, methanol, and benzene at 20° over wide ranges of equilibrium relative pressures for wide-pore adsorbents, including natural clinoptilolité.
-
2.
The adsorption isotherms obtained are represented satisfactorily by the equation from the theory of the volume filling of micropores.
-
3.
At low relative pressures a higher adsorbability of carbon dioxide and methanol on clinoptilolite is observed, compared with NaX zeolite and active carbons, in spite of the small micropore volume of clinoptilolite. From the point of view of the theory of volume filling of micropores, this effect is due to the substantially higher values of the characteristic adsorption energies for clinoptilolite compared with the other microporous adsorbents studied.
