Conclusions
When the cleavage rate of some C-substituted o-carboranes to the (3)-l,2-dicarbaunde-carborate anion by treatment with amines was studied it was established that the reaction is first order in both the o-carborane and the amine. The cleavage rate depends on the nature of the amine and the nature of the substituent in the o-carborane.
