Conclusions

  1. 1.

A number of esters of carboranylphosphonous and carboranylphosphonic acids was obtained.

  2. 2.

The esters of carboranylphosphonous acids are capable of entering into the Arbuzov reaction under the influence of various electrophilic reagents.

  3. 3.

The C-P bond is cleaved when carboranylphosphonites are reacted with water and alcohols.

  4. 4.

The presence of the electron-acceptor carboranyl group on the phosphorus atom is reflected in a certain decrease in the reactivity of the carboranylphosphonites.
