Conclusions

  1. 1.

In the reaction of profound oxidation of small quantities of o-xylene in air, the activities of aluminochromium catalysts, prepared by impregnation or adsorption from the gas phase, are the same. Preadsorption of NH3 on Al2O3 increases the activity of the gasadsorption catalyst by 30–40%.

  2. 2.

The activity of aluminochromium-copper catalysts depends on their composition and method of preparation (impregnation or adsorption from the gas phase); on samples containing 4.15 and 6.1, as well as 4–7 and 8.9% Cr2O3 and CuO, respectively, complete oxidation of o-xylene to CO2 and H2O is achieved at 350° and a space velocity of 20,000 h−1.
