Summary
-
1.
We have studied by infrared spectra the successive transformations of 5-deuterocyclopentadiene (VI) into the equilibrium mixture of monodeuterocyclopentadienes.
-
2.
The conversion takes place by the scheme IV⇌1-deuterocyclopentadiene⇌2-deuterocyclopentadiene.
-
3.
In all probability the stepwise character of the reciprocal transformations of cyclopentadiene isomers is a general rule.
