Summary
-
1.
A discussion is given of the formal kinetics of simultaneous competing bi-molecular reactions of type(1) and (34), which describe the recombination of a mixture of particles of different sorts.
-
2.
The results obtained are applicable to calculating the isotope effect and the distribution of isotopic hydrogen molecules formed by recombination of an equimolecular mixture of atomic H, D, and T. It turned out that isotopic molecules H2, T2, and HT have a distribution throughout the whole of the reaction which differs from the statistical distribution by not more than ∼3.5% while the molecules D2, HD, and DT do not differ by more than 1%.
