The reduction of cyclohexanone on skeletal zinc catalyst under pressure

A high yield of cyclohexanol is obtained when cyclohexanone is hydrogenated on zinc catalyst under pressure.
The main reaction is complicated by the secondary dehydration of the formed cyclohexanol to cyclohexene.
