Summary

  1. 1.

On the basis of a study of the infrared and ultraviolet absorption spectra of the nitroalkanes and a systematization of the data in the literature, the possibility of identifying mononitroalkanes, gem-dinitroalkanes and 1,1,1-trinitroalkanes by spectroscopic methods was demonstrated.

  2. 2.

By means of infrared spectroscopy the reciprocal influence of the nitro group and hydrocarbon radicals in nitroalkanes containing one, two or three nitro groups on the end carbon atom was discovered.
