Optisch aktive, aromatisch substituierte Spirane, 1. Mitt.: Versuche zur schrittweisen Synthese aromatischer Spirandione, insbesondere von Spiro-bi[3]ferrocenophandion

Abstract

The systematic, stepwise synthesis of aromatically substituted spiranes and spirane-diones, resp., including the optical resolution of a monobridged centrochiral intermediate before the second cyclization step, makes possible the direct correlation of the chirality of this product with the chirality of the desired spirane-diones.

For this purpose a general synthetic approach is proposed which has proven to be applicable to phenylene and naphthylene derivatives but not, however, to the synthesis of spirobi[3]ferrocenophanedione (which was prepared by a one step synthesis). The synthetic and stereochemical problems encountered during the synthetic attempts are described in some detail.

Zusammenfassung

Die systematische, schrittweise Synthese von aromatisch substituierten Spiranen bzw. Spiran-dionen einschließlich der Racematspaltung auf der Zwischenstufe einer einfach überbrückten, zentrochiralen Verbindung vor dem zweiten Cyclisierungsschritt ermöglicht die direkte Korrelation der Chiralität dieses Produktes mit jener der gewünschten Spiran-dione.

Es wird dafür ein allgemeiner Syntheseweg vorgeschlagen, der sich bei Phenylen- und Naphthylen-derivaten als gangbar erwies, für Spiro-bi[3]ferrocenophan-dion jedoch nicht anwendbar ist (diese Verbindung wurde durch eine einstufige Synthese erhalten). Die bei diesem Syntheseversuch auftretenden stereochemischen Probleme werden näher behandelt.
