Summary
-
1.
Determinations were made of the yield of iodine formed by the action of hard x-rays on the system KI-KIO3-H2O-CHCl4.
-
2.
When the iodide-iodate mixture was saturated with trichloroe thylene instead of chloroform, the yields of iodine were much lower.
-
3.
In two-phase systems, as the amount of chloroform relative to aqueous solution of KI and KIO3 increases, the yield of iodine increases.
