Summary
-
1.
At 350° and 40 atm, in contact with zinc chloride on an alumina carrier, the carbon chain of 1-pentene undergoes isomerization with formation of 31% of isopentenes, among which 2-methyl-2-butene predominates.
-
2.
Under the same conditions 3-methyl-1-butene is isomerized into 2-rnethyl-1-butene and 2-methyl-2-butene, with predominance of the latter.
