Summary

  1. 1.

    Calculation from the equations of the multiplet theory of the heights of the energy barriers in reactions of hydrogenolysis of hydrocarbons with opening of 3-, 4-, and 5-membered rings and of dehydrocyclization with formation of a cyclopentane ring gives results that agree with the experimental data.

     
  2. 2.

    The value of the energy of the bond formed between a C atom of cyclopentane and a platinum catalyst was estimated.
