Summary

  1. 1.

A study was made of the compositions of the products of the mass and solution copolycondensation of glycine ethyl ester with N-carboxyglycine anhydride.

  2. 2.

A study was made of the kinetics of the change in composition of the polycondensation products of glycine ethyl ester. The effects of the relative concentration of N-carboxyglycine anhydride, the temperature, and the amount of solvent were established.

  3. 3.

It was found that reaction proceeds in two stages, the occurrence of which may be explained by the mutual-initiation mechanism.
