Substituted 2-iodoacetoacetanilides as chelating compounds

Abstract

A method of preparing various substituted 2-iodoacetoacetanilides is presented. The dissociation constants of these compounds and the stability constants of their copper chelates were determined by potentiometric pH-measurements. The influence of the substituents at the phenyl and also the chelate ring on the complexing behaviour of the 2-iodoacetoacetanilides is discussed.
