Zusammenfassung

Die Rotation der Acetylgruppe in Acetyl-methylbenchrotrenen ist im Gegensatz zu den entsprechenden Benzolderivaten gehindert; dies folgt aus Dipolmoment-Messungen. Die Rotationsbarriere stammt primär aus der hohen Dipol-Dipol-Wechselwirkungsenergie zwischen den Partialmomenten des Benchrotrenrestes und der Acetylgruppe.

Abstract

The rotation of the acetyl group in acetyl methylbenchrotrenes is hindered; this follows from dipole moment measurements and is in contrast to the results found in the analogous benzene derivatives. The rotational barrier is primarily due to the high dipole-dipole interaction energy between the partial moments of the benchrotrene nucleus and the acetyl group.
