Abstract

During the February 3 – 15, 1986 activity complex the region NOAA 4713 is 100 % effective in producing type II burst related flares. It is proposed to explain this fact by the immediate neighborhood of this active region and a non — polar coronal hole with its open magnetic-topology. Synoptic plots of magnetograms illuminate the formation of this rare configuration.
