Synthesis of rac. 1-[3-hydroxy-1-(E)-octenyl]-2-imidazoleheptanoic acid

Abstract

The synthesis of an analogue of natural prostaglandins (I) is described, where the cyclopentane ringsystem is substituted by imidazole.

The pharmacological activity of sodium-salt14 is compared with that of natural prostaglandins.
