Abstract
The kinetics of the interaction of Cu2S and TeO2 for mixtures, of molar ratio Cu2S/TeO2: 1/1, 1/1.5, and 1/2, was investigated in the temperature range between 500 and 900°C. The interaction takes place with high rate. The over-all interaction products up to temperatures 500–600°C, contain predominantly copper tellurites and elementary tellurium. At higher temperatures Cu2−x Te, Cu4−x Te2, CuTe or their mixtures are obtained, in dependance of the quantity of TeO2 in the starting batches.
