Abstract

The photostimulated photogalvanic (PG) and acoustogalvanic (AG) currents are calculated in a semiconductor placed in the field of two linearly polarized electromagnetic waves (with frequencies Ω1=2Ω2), acting on the scattering probability of electrons, and the field of a high-frequency sound flux. With the double laser illumination mentioned, the “electron gas → phonons” system becomes noncentrosymmetric, which leads to PG and AG effects. The latter represents a contribution to the acoustoelectric current linear in intensity and even in sound wave vector.

In conclusion let us note that generally the even AE effect should, apparently, be classified as an acoustogalvanic effect (in analogy with the class of photogalvanic effects).
