Adsorption properties of carbon adsorbents

Communication 4. Adsorption properties of active charcoals having a developed transitional porosity

  • Published:
Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Division of chemical science Aims and scope

Summary

  1. 1.

A detailed study was made of the adsorption properties of a number of samples of active charcoals with developed transitional porosity with respect to benzene vapor at 20° and nitrogen at -195°.

  2. 2.

The potential theory of adsorption makes it possible to describe the adsorption equilibrium over a wide range of pressures by regarding the active charcoals chosen for the investigation as adsorbents of a mixed structural type.

  3. 3.

Methods were developed for calculating the structural characteristics of micropores of active charcoals.
