Conclusions

The authors have studied the reaction ofα,Ω-dichlorodimethylsiloxanes, with 2–8 Si atoms in the chain, with n-butylamine under conditions in which the chloride was added to a solution of n-butylamine at room temperature and dilution was minimal.

Under these conditions the reaction leads to formation of only linear porducts —α,Ω-bis(n-butylamino)dimethylsiloxanes.

Heating 1,5-bis(n-butylamino)hexamethyltrisiloxane with an ammonium sulfate catalyst led to the formation of N-n-butylhexamethylcyclotrisilazodioxane.
