Structure of products of reaction between diorganodichlorosilanes and pyrocatechol

Conclusions

The reaction between dimethyldichlorosilane and pyrocatechol was studied; it was determined that the reaction yields not five-membered (as reported in the literature) but ten-membered cyclic compounds which easily revert to five-membered compounds upon heating.
