Brief Communications

Summary

  1. 1.

The selectivity of the hydrogenation of 2-ethylanthraqulnone on skeletal nickel catalyst in dioxane solution is practically independent of both the amount of catalyst and the temperature in the interval 20–80°.

  2. 2.

Steam-treated nickel catalyst selectively catalyzes the hydrogenation of 2-ethylanthraquinone to the hydroquinone.
