Abstract
The phase diagrams of binary systems of linear polyethylene (PÄ), isotactic polypropylene (PP), polyisobutylene (PIB) and diisooctyladipate (DIOA) were studied:PÄ-DIOA displays a liquid-liquid separation in the range of comparatively small polymer concentrations and a liquid-solid separation at high polymer concentrations;PP-DIOA displays liquid-solid separation in the entire concentration range, i.e. crystallization of polymer;PIB-DIOA is characterized by limited miscibility, i.e. liquid-liquid separation in the entire concentration range. The behaviour ofPÄ andPP was also investigated in 2-ethylhexanol,n-decanol, methylcarbitol, nitrobenzene, dibutylphthalate, diethyl and dibutyl succinate.
