Summary
-
1.
A new reaction of trichlorosilane with saturated hydrocarbons has been found which takes place at about 600° in a circulating system and results in the formation of organic compounds of silicon of the type RSiCl3 with a yield of more than 60%.
-
2.
Regardless of the nature of the hydrocarbon, methyltrichlorosilane and vinyltrichlorosilane are always found among the silico-organic compounds that are formed; their yield is as much as about 30% in some cases.
