Summary
-
1.
The conditions for the diene condensation of divinyl ether with anthracene were studied, and it was shown that this reaction proceeds stagewise with formation of mono-(I) and bis-(II) -adducts.
-
2.
The new compound, 9,10-dihydro-11-(vinyloxy)-9,10-ethanoanthracene, was prepared, and its properties were studied in reactions of hydrolysis, hydrogenation, addition of HCl and CCl4, and polymerization; also in diene condensation with anthracene and hexachlorocyclopentadiene.
