Effect of the methyl group on the isotope exchange rate for hydrogen in the o-, m-, and p-positions in tricarbonyltoluene chromium in alkaline media

The hydrogen isotope exchange reaction of carbonyltoluene chromium in ethanol in the presence of a sodium alcoholate has been studied. The partial rate factors for the o-, m-, and p- positions in the aromatic ring in this system have been determined.
