Summary

  1. 1.

The conditions of diene synthesis with, 4-dithioethyl-1,3-butadiene and cyclopentadiene were studied. This reaction proceeded stepwise and yielded adducts containing different numbers of cyclopentadiene molecules per molecule of dithioethylbutadiene.

  2. 2.

Three adducts containing two thioethyl groups and one, two. or three endomethylenebicycloheptene rings, respectively, were isolated and characterized.
