Change in catalytic activity of nickel stearate during the oxidation of ethylbenzene

  • Published:
Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Division of chemical science Aims and scope

Summary

  1. 1.

In the oxidation of ethylbenzene catalyzed by nickel stearate, the activity of the catalyst gradually falls as a result of reaction of nickel stearate with acids formed during, the oxidation.

  2. 2.

The anomalous course of the kinetic curve of hydroperoxide accumulation during the catalyzed reaction is associated with deactivation of the catalyst.
